A huge congratulations to Santi, Ashley, Moiz, and the entire Momentum team on signing a definitive agreement to be acquired by Salesforce! This is a well-deserved accomplishment, and we couldn't be more proud to be part of the journey.
Why We Invested in Momentum
When we co-led the Series A in the summer of 2024, we shared why we were excited about the company and the founders. We heard about Momentum from one of our LPs, Kyle Norton, who was an early customer and advisor. The use case immediately resonated with Mandy. She had spent years trying to get accurate customer data from the CRM to forecast pipeline, improve processes, and give customer feedback to product. As a firm backed by 1,000+ GTM leaders, we often hear about this critical challenge.
Momentum was selling into the Enterprise and expanding within its customers — a great sign that it was working, unlike the 100+ GTM AI products we saw that had low ACV and high churn. The founders brought a unique blend of complementary skills and experience, and we believed they were the right team to build this next-generation enterprise GTM engine.
A Product that Evolved with the Market
At the time of our investment, the value proposition that resonated with enterprise and fast-growing customers was the ability to automatically generate data in your CRM from calls to improve data hygiene, while also giving your sales team recaps and next steps in Slack. While automating these workflows created amazing value, the Momentum team's vision was always bigger: to capture the data from every customer interaction and surface strategic insights in minutes. Why do we win deals? Why do we lose? Why are customers buying our new product? What are the top 3 product requests? Momentum's platform can answer all of these questions and more.
To drive growth, they had to build a GTM team, process, and pitch that evolved with the product, while also defining themselves as a GTM AI thought leader. It's been a pleasure to support the team and leverage the power of our Stage 2 LP network. Thank you to Dionne Hedgpeth, advisor on CS and Operations, David Rich, advisor on Marketing, advisors Toby Carrington, Kyle Norton, Evan Randall, and the many LPs who attended workshops to give feedback and introduced Momentum to potential customers — or became customers themselves.
What this Acquisition Means for the Salesforce Ecosystem
Momentum thrives on data, and when you think of GTM data, you think of Salesforce. Salesforce already has a system of record for enterprises, and with Momentum it unlocks unstructured data from conversations. Salesforce will integrate Momentum into Agentforce 360 and Slackbot to ingest and analyze unstructured data from third-party video channels. By unlocking the long tail of customer data, customers can apply those insights to customer workflows and leverage the true voice of the customer to make better decisions.
We can't wait to see what you accomplish together!
