Senior Vice President, Business Development Officer, Port 51 Lending

 Matthew is SVP, Business Development Officer for Port 51. In this role, he is responsible for leading the development and growth of Small Business Administration (SBA) nationally.

With more than 22 years in banking, Matthew uses his extensive knowledge of the U.S. Small Business Administration and credit underwriting to help business owners evaluate and structure their loan facilities to minimize risk and maximize their potential for growth. Matthew helps businesses navigate the application and approval process of both the bank and the SBA, he was awarded the 2015 U.S. Small Business Administration Arizona Financial Services Champion of the Year, and recently awarded the Coleman SBA BDO of the year award in 2019.

Matthew hails from mid-Michigan, graduated from Pacific Coast Bankers School, and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northwood University, where he graduated magna cum laude. He is a former Trustee on the board of directors for CoBiz Cares Foundation, a non-profit organization that has granted over one million in grants to AZ & CO non-profits. Matthew is also on the advisory board of directors for Release the Fear, www.releasethefear.org, and is actively involved in numerous forms of community volunteering.
